have you installe the bellcara driver in you ibm. and copy the acmattach.txt to your diska
Hi everyone i'm wondering if some of you are having the same problem with mine.
Telnet doesn't work when i'm at home but it works perfectly in the office. I'm using only one ibm notebook so there is no hardware issue involved.
I'm thinking about some services running in the office which is not available at home but i couldn't figure it out.

E680 + E680I G 0D.C5.ABP + 2Gb Sandisk + BLACKHAWK's RockBoX !!! YEAH !!!
the belcarra driver is definitely installed because i can telnet in the office using hte same notebook. At home i can see that the phone is connected at 8mbps but when i ping 169.254.142.2 it always return hardware error. In the office its perfectly ok.
so what is the real problem just the telnet ? after you typed telent 169.254.142.2 nothing happened like that or what?

It just hang in there and nothing happens. I also tried to reinstall the driver but the same result. Strangely when i tried at the office theres no problem at all.
ummm, that's just funky. If it's the same notebook there should be neither hardware nor software issues. You ARE connecting it directly to the laptop right?
yes, exactly the only difference is that in the office there is a wired lan which is not available at home. I suspect that there must be some running services which enables communication w/ the phone but i couldn't figure out which one.
maybe it's not a service that's available but rather a mode that the computer's in. After all, you're connection is between the cell and the computer directly. Maybe when you connect your comp to the LAN at your office it activates some like network mode or "state of mind". I always have my cable modem connected via ethernet so maybe mine's already in that mode...
Course, I really have no idea and am just talking out of my butt... (but it's the only thing that occurs to me).
maybe you're right coz it only happens to this notebook which i always carry when i'm not in my home country where i usually use a desktop. using this desktop, there has been no problem with telnet although it's a standalone (no lan), only a dial-up modem.
Has anyone managed to solve the same problem?
