The gaintable with 300 as the volume (as tarwin is saying) is indeed DANGEROUS. I tried - but it got too loud - I reverted to the old gaintable file.

same here . Then i tried editing first with notepad: same result no change.Then with Word: same Notepad2:same noteped ++ : same.And sometime it dont let me save.Dunno y.Any1 know y?

Never use windows Notepad to change system files!! When save - Notepad replace CR with symbol combination CRLF - this is not correct for Linux system, file won't work ever.

Use CrimsonEdit (look internet for it) that editor have option - how terminate the strings.

Or use Wordpad

it's odd, for changing the dhm files for themes I need to use wordpad, notepad won't work
but for changing the colours on missed_led I had to use notepad, wordpad didn't work

why is that?

no, what I mean is why will one program work with one type of file on the phone but not another and vice versa?
or is it just some weird voodoo magic going on=p?
after all, from what I understand using x program appends information that screws it up, but it doesn't always is my point...
