  1. Default Type in Japanese?

I want to type in Japanese.

I had the idea of having the entire alphabet on a txt file and copying/pasting whenever I wanted to type something, but that sounds like too much of a pain in the ***.

I have the Threesearch unicode font, but that won't let me type in japanese.

    Can anyone help?

First of all, guys, I can not guarantee everything would work, but if you agree to give it a try, I'll try my best to help you. I modded my handset, and now I can type in Russian.

/usr/language/inputmethods/*.kbd - this is the location of the keyboard layout file for English keyboard.

The following is the content of that file designed to type in Russian:

As you can see, now you have to substitute Russian letters presented in Unicode (UTF- code values (layouts 1 and 2) with Japanese kana.
Please note that some keys are not displayed here. Give me a set of kana letters with Unicode values corresponding each letter, and I'll try to develop a keyboard file for Japanese input. The problem is, there are just 33 letters in Russian alphabet, and each of Japanese alphabets is at least 47 letters plus manigory and aggravated syllables (smaller ones).
    After that, we'll test it.

    Ermm...

Ok, so with the examle above, you have 1 keyboard which types Russian letters, (layout 1) and one that types in English (layout s)

This means that when you go to the keyboard section you have 'English keypad' and 'Russian keypad'.

    You don't have Chinese input.

    Is that right?

so you mean replacing the chinese board?

Give me a set of kana letters with Unicode values corresponding each letter, and I'll try to develop a keyboard file for Japanese input.
emm, what do you mean by unicode values?? i could provide you both hiragana and katakana letters, could you give me your email or i just post it here?

No, maxiewawa, it's not right. I still need Chinese input (both Pinyin and Handwriting), cause I live and work in China.
You can not add any keypads to those 5 instead of any one. That's by the way, the reason I'd like to substitute Zhuyin Board with Russian keypad.
In case I described above we create two additional layouts over English keypad. In other words, there are:
    1. Russian keypad with regular letters (small ones, I don't know the exact word for it, sorry). This layout has a button with American flag, that switches you to English input. You can set this input method as a default input method in English keypad. Capital letters are typed with "Shift" key. There's no "CapsLock", unfortunately.
    2. English keyboard with regular letters. This layout has a button with Russian flag, that switches you to Russian input. You can set this input method as a default input method in English keypad, too. Capital letters are typed with "Shift" key. There's no "CapsLock", unfortunately.

In both layouts there is a key swithing to special characters input (&, <, >, [, ] etc., and figures]. You can lock this layout.

In Japanese layout's case, the only problem I see so far, is that, compared to Russian, there's much (at least 3 times) more symbols in Japanese. I think, possible solutions for this problem could be:
    1. Use Hiragana as default layout, and Katakana as "Shift" layout.
    2. Input Katakana through "Symbols input".

Hideyuuk1, giving me Unicode values for kana means giving me those values that you can find in "Start" button in Windows -> Programs -> Accessories -> [crap, I forgot the name of this menu in English, I use Russian version of Windows] -> Characters table. In that window choose MS PMincho (or any other supporting Japanese) font and scroll down to where kana characters displayed. Write down those values displayed in tooltip for each symbol.
    For example:
    ぁ 3041
    あ 3042
and so on, down to ヺ 30FA.
These are the values you have to substitute "0439", "0446" and "0443" in "0x0439 0x0446 0x0443" with, respectively.
Don't send it to me, just post here and someone (maybe me or you) will develop a keypadlayout using that info. After that, you'll be ready to test it on your handset.
