can be easily build, yet nobody seems to make it.

    make a script like this:
    Code:
    led 1
    sleep 0.2
    led 2
    sleep 0.2
    .. goes on...
and run it while you run your mp3 player

Its only for E6/A1200 and two headers are missing for easy porting to e680i.

    Default there's a binary

here it's, it includes a binary "led"

my previous approach is (still) possible

If I'm not mistaken, the funlight was designed to "blink-blink" when your receice calls, messages; no one include it in their music player

Yes you are right the funlight for e680i is only for received calls and messages and there is also one for missing calls. But the funlight for E6/A1200 is a deamon which runs in the background and let flash the backlight from display and from the buttons when sound is running. The important thing is to analyse the sound device which is done in this programm.
For e680i you need only to change the part with backlight and set it to the led which is also a device (/dev/led).
But an important part for analysing the sound dev is missing (ZAudioNormalDev.h). The developer will keep his knowledge about it.

yah, without that header the "dancing lights" will only become a dumb one.

I expect to have "sound dependent lights" like Halftux says: red in certain range of amp, another led in different range.

Hey jendral I think you can do your funlight application. Have a look at these files and you can cook an application of it. It is not so easy but you can find all necessary information in these source codes.

    e6:
    funlight_1.1.tar.gz

    e680i:
    led.cpp
    audanalyzer_0.1_src_dec_19_2005_0.tar.gz
