  1. Default A simple way to fix c5ab's contact issue

As you know, c5ab firmware does not show contact's name when receiving a call or sms because of missing "+country code" in front of telephone number.

It may stop you from using c5_ab firmware if you have many contacts. You may not want to edit contact one by one to add "+country code" in front of every telephone number.

I found a very simple way to overcome it without any firmware's patch!
Just follow these steps below and you will happy with c5ab's contact issue.

    1. run mobile Phone Tools (mPT)
    2. connect your phone to mPT
    3. click on Menu button on mPT
    4. choose Organizer - Mobile Phone - Backup / Restore...
    5. select "Copy mobile phone data to computer", next
    6. select "Contacts", next
    7. choose a path to save backup file, next, finish
    8. use wordpad (do not use notepad) to open the backup file in step 7
    9. choose Edit - Replace... command in wordpad window.
    10. replace all CELL: with CELL:+your country code. Example: my country code is 84, I replace all CELL: with CELL:+84
    11. replace all HOME: with HOME:+your country code.
    12. if you saved contacts in SIM, replace all VOICE: with VOICE:+your country code.
    13. Save the file
    14. click on Menu button on mPT
    15. choose Organizer - Mobile Phone - Backup / Restore...
    16. select "Copy computer data to mobile phone", tick "Clear phone contents beforehand", next
    17. select "Contacts", next
    18. choose the modified backup file, next, finish

Now all your contact have been added with +your country code and c5ab firmware will able to show contact name when recieving a call or sms.

    Note:
    1. I am not responsible for any contact losing if you try my method.
    2. Contact name in UTF-8 can not be converted correctly after restoration. This is due to mPT's convert bug.

i believe the problem is caused by one of the file in the /usr/setup folder.
i have taken the CG36 (setup) from C5A4P (with slighlty modification of ezx_flexbit.cfg to enable mpkg) and flash on c5abp and i don't see any problem of country code

there is no obligation from being a developer, he has skill so we called him a developer.

Guys... chiennk,... The same issue is discussed in this topic: http://www.motorolafans.com/index.ph...ewtopic&t=2365 Don't you think it better to move there in order that this issue can be unique? Sorry. Thanks.

I have the same problem. I added +001 to one of my numbers and the phone shows the correct ID for incoming calls. The problem is that now if I try to dial out that number (+001xxxxxxxxxx) I get an error recording. I don't think the US system recognizes the +001 code. Any ideas?

    Thanks,
    Ross

    00 for international calling
0 for outside of the city (or large area)
It's the common config in most country.
