I think your computer is missing the USB drivers for the phone. They are on the MPT CD that comes with the phone. On WinXP, the drivers may not install automatically becoz they are not 'Digitally Signed' drivers. You might have to manually install the drivers in that case.

argh nothings working..how do i manually assign the driver?

im getting rid of the phone..i tried two different usb cables..i figure its the phone..now my MPT wont load or run.
