mobile Phone Tools did not detect phone

When I run setup with MPT it asks at some point to connect the phone to USB port, then it goes through setup process, showing the progress bar and at the end gives me the following message: "mobile Phone Tools did not detect your phone".

Manual says not to connect phone to the USB before installing MPT, but I made this mistake and this might be the reason while it's not recognizing the phone.

Can anybody give the advise how to fix this problem?

Make sure your phone is in USB modem mode before using MPT. Or maybe, your phone USB modem driver is not installed properly.

I had the problem once when I forgot to change from USB mass storage mode to USB modem mode before connection through MPT.

Thanks, but my phone is in USB Modem mode. The driver is definitely not installed correctly, but I do not know how to reinstall it, since MPT installs the driver automatically. But because I tried to install it before running MPT everything was scrued up.

I installed it on different computer using MPT and there everything works fine. But with my laptop with which I have to use it does not work. Do you know how to reinstall driver without MPT?

u can try this thread i posted to rectify for the incorrect installation of the modem driver:

for the MPT, wht i did is tht i cancel the wizard for new phone window. then a generic phone display will pop up, next go to the menu and click SETUP > General Setup > Communiation (Tab) > Change modem...

and choose manually for E680(i). tht is how i did it.
