Default T-Mobile Voicemail and SMS messages

I've tried doing a search on here but didn't find anyone talking about this, so if I'm repeating someone elses question - sorry!

T-mobile recently changed the way their voicemail service works and now insteading of getting an sms message that says I have voicemail, i just get empty sms messages any time anything happens with my voicemail. I end up with like 15 blank messages a day. Do other people have this problem, and has anyone come up with a way to make this stop??

i just switched over to t-mobile and picked up an e680i and i'm experiencing the exact same problem. anyone aware of a solution?

i notice when i opened my text messages in mobiletools that the blank messages had subjest with an arrow or a plus sign. might there be a way to modify what the phone recognizes as a voicemail message?

I asked the same question when I started with T-Mobile a few months ago with my E680i.

Apperantly there is no fix for this and that's just the way the voicemail system works with T-Mobile and there is no way to modify this (or so I have been told).
The sms we receive do not count towards the bucket sms subscription.

There is a fix for this. It requires editing a SEEM file using P2Kman.

    Some links to help:

    http://xlr8.us/hofo/
    http://xlr8.us/hofo/map.txt

You will be editing the 0032_0001.seem file (offset 02, bit 1, on). Follow the directions in the above guide to connect your phone. If you did it right, you'll get a phone alert when you have new voicemail and stop getting all those empty SMS messages. Hope this helps!

This works! Thanks again silverpassat. It also got me connected to the T-Mobile network instead of Cingular.

ekpyr thanks for the tip. I downloaded the P2Kman (from motomodders.net) but when I connect my phone (via standard USB cable that came with my E680i) and run the p2kman.exe it never sees my phone connected.

If I get it recognize that my phone is connected I can edit the 0032_0001.seem as you pointed out.
