Hey Zehn,
Your topic was een great help for me. Thanks!
Hi,
I had a hard time trying to go around getting things setup on my E680i. It kept showing "Memory Full". I did a "Master Reset", it did not work out well. There is another option, "Master Clear", which will clear all contents on the phone and revert back to it's default packaging software.
I was thinking, I need my SMSes, files, photos, etc.
Well, just here to spread what i did in order to keep all files intact, esp SMSes.
1. Firstly, to backup SMSes, u need to setup telnet on your E680i. I followed this tutorial:
http://www.motorolafans.com/index.ph...&p=17875#17875
2. Then, once i got in, I copied /ezxlocal/sysDatabase/* to my SD card. I use this command "cp -p /ezxlocal/sysDatabase/* /mmc/mmca1/"
3. Next, backup all my mp3s, pictures, videos to my SD card as well.
4. Next, contacts and calender.
I ran MPT (Mobile Phone Tools), and click on Organiser->Backup.
I backup-ed all my contacts and calender into a single file.
1 thing i like abt MPT is that, it keeps my chinese words for some of my contacts.
5. Once all these are done, I bravely did a "Master Clear". Password "000000".
6. Once rebooted, everything as expected were deleted.
7. Firstly, i use MPT->Organiser->Backup to put back all the contacts and calender. Takes abt 5-7 mins depending on the number of contacts and calender.
8. Once done, I connect up the telnet to the E680i. Got to do this after the contacts backup.
9. Move the stuff I backuped back to it's original directory.
10. Viola. All done.
Things to Note:
1. MMS are not backed-up.
2. Programs that reside on the phone (except those u installed onto the SD card) will be erased.
Should be all that u need to know abt doing a "Master Clear", if u do face any problems.

Hey Zehn,
Your topic was een great help for me. Thanks!
you should find older topic to take "backup.lin" & " restore.lin". Tab to backup.lin to backup your database
Nothing is everlasting!
Nice guide. In a more simple way, you can use the "BackupRestoreNow" application to do everything. First, you need to install 'ezxdialog.mtf' to get the phone's native dialog box. And then, to backup all PIM, tap 'BackupNow.lin'. PIM will be saved as one file in SD card. To restore, you only need to tap 'RestoreNow.lin'.![]()

No need to telnet in. No need to use MPT.![]()
Development of EZX-SysInfo / SysEdit application is completed! Version 0.1 Beta 2 is out. Check out in 'Bounty Projects' forum.

Hi,
Can this be used with C4A?
I've tried threesearch's "back up" and "native" twice and I lost my date twice.
yap, it's can. u must installed linloader first & ezxdialog to run the backuprestorenow script
Sorry i'm not in good english
Oh, the guide is very clear, hehehehe, and i am about to test with my own risk of losing more than 200 contacts))))
I have master clear/reseted my phone alomost 6 times and i never lost a single sms (around 700) and contacts (around 300). It works great !!!
Happy Independence Day !!!
the backuprestorenow.zip utility is good, but how can i view the files in PIM.BAK in my PC
u can extract it using 7zip.
