Maybe it helps telling what you've tried so far?
Can anyone help getting MAME running on our little, wonderful phone?
Cheers,
Leo

Yes, but does it run Linux?
Well it would help but due to severe lack of time I have been unable to try anything else besides what I already posted a couple months ago...Originally Posted by maxx_730
Perhaps someone who has the crosstool installed could try building from source against SDL?

i think the mame will go slow on the e680(i) like the GBA, cause most of the newer arcade games used more than one cpu -up to 4 8-16bit cpu's..
maybe a PC-Engine Emu would be better and could use the sound in full speed.
its CPU was a 6502 with 7Mhz and the EMU runns on a 200Mhz P1 computer with fully 60FPS with sound. a e680(i) has a 312Mhz CPU.
a PC-Engine has grafics like a NES 16bit or a Sega Mega Drive(16 bit).
well, maybe this is true, but I would rather play early 80's games like pacman. These were running fine on my old XDA phone who had a much slower CPU than the E680i!Originally Posted by y-cyas

why not install a java version of pac-man or another early 80s style game? so many in the internet...
between 1986 and 1999 was the best time for the 2D games for arcade and home-gaming consoles(not computer).
i would like to play Parodius, Pc-Kid(Ponk) I II III, Gunhead, Super star soldier and many other cool PC-Engine games on my e680...
each game needs just 256Kb to 1Mb, but for that tiny mem they have good grafix.

because I want an emulator that can run many games, not just a few games that do not look like the original ones.
Going to switch to a Pocket PC phone to have it?
Leo
Pocket PC? i have one, but its 5years old and too slow for an PC Engine emu... also i not wanna carry 2 devices the whole day long just for gaming, also the battery isnt good anymore.
hmm.. maybe we should programm both the mame and the pc engine emu![]()
