you can use max. 4Gb (non SDHC SD card) on your e680i/g like i do, but you need to telnet in or use a card reader for transfer files. it will not work with mass storage mode.
standard is 2Gb for the e680i/g

you can use standard SD, mini SD(with adaptor card), TransFlash/microSD(with adaptor card) on the phone. the standard SD card is the cheapest one i think..
    Motorola e680 (flashed to e680i) + 4Gb SD card + HT820 Stereo BT Hedphones,
    Ubuntu 6.10 + 7.04,
    Nokia N95 + 8Gb microSD

    thx..

i'll buy the 2gb one soon
    (i'll ROX my phone)

but.. from SD, miniSD and TransFlash(MicroSD), which one does have the fastest transfer rate?

or i'll just buy MMC (it'll keep my money )

hmm.. all cards are good for the phone also a cheap SD/MMC card has 3Mb/sec. that is enough for a phone.

if you connecting the phone to usb with linux that will be a bit slow but that debends on the usb1.1 and the linux driver and not on the crad...
