    Default The shell is back

    Hello all,

I've already included a "shell" in Cy4th. It's in the download section. It is not a real shell because you may not run interactive programs like mc but you may use any bash command like ls, mount, ps, ... with it's output you may see in Cy4th. Enjoy!

great, thanks! good to have a console again. only one thing, will this in the future be able to run interactive apps? Because you could do this already with the EFEM built-in app and a symlink to busybox.
Yes, but does it run Linux?

Welcome! Thank you. I hope it works on other phones. I've only tested it on my E680i. Please report difficulties!

Running interactive programs may be able in the future if me or anyone does the work for a telnet emulation in Cy4th. But I guess you are wrong, because the EFEM will AFAIK also not run interactive apps. Interactive means, a program where you have to do some input before the app closes.

And it's also not a big drawback, because you may use java or even Cy4th to do interactive things.

The main breakthrough with Cy4th now is that you have a connection between the j2me environment and the rest of the system. Even bluetooth, file access to ANY file and so on. As long as the demon runs. But it takes very few ressources.

I've found the first bug because of endless loop conditions in j2me when output is the same as before. I will fix it in the next version.

Meanwhile if it's in endless loop you may exit Cy4th and start it again.

    hehe felt endless lopp already

you know it, i like to listen to your open sources sound, perhaps you send it again to me. like to see eg your way of communication between c and java

    [hr]
i have another idea, for distributing sources, we can use e680 projekt from sourceforge and commit there through cvs, binary distributing we can let here

And 0.4.1a is out where only the demon is changed a litte bit for better "cache erasing". I guess this is the last change for now.
