    Default :( My 4Gb SD card is broken -need a new one.

    last sunday my phone freezed when i acessed on my 4Gb SD card when i restart the phone i didnt see my data on the card and it shows only 2Gb instead of 4Gb. at home i format the card with my linux computer but i does not work properly, alst tried to format it on the phone but it didnt work. also the blue plastic case on the cirquit of the card was broken. i try to fix it but i didnt get it to work.

    it was a NCP 4Gb Sd card with samsung chips in it.
    i m sure that the chips will still work, but without the plastic case?

    so i need a new one.

    is there a NON SDHC 4Gb microSD card on the market?

    the reason of the microSD card instead ot normal SD one is that i could use it also in another phone that is only made for microSD.

    the standard for 4GB cards is SDHC ... SD max 2gb...
    i've tried 2 brands of 4GB NON SDHC cards on E680i for 2 days. Different problems occurs during my tests: data corruption, instability, completly loss of the filesystem, strange problems formating and others.

    Now I have a 2GB kingston, it's safe.

    @ycyas
    I've no answer to your question, but I am wondering how you broke the card?

    @epinter
    My 4 Gb card nonHC SD is branded Eagletec, and have had no problems with it so far (except for loss of USB mass storage function, had to learn how to telnet to transfer files)

    i dont know really why my Sd card got broken... but i think its the cheap and thin blue plastic case around the chips so if we use it quite often the plastic will break...
    until last saturday the card worked well in my phone and i had no data loss...

    i just ordered another 4Gb non SDHC card today.. it should arrive tomorrow...

    today i received my new 4Gb card and it works so far...(i just copy the files to the card).

    its a "disc2go" 4Gb 133x non SDHC card, formated in my phone and shows arund 3.8Gb.

    the blue plastic case seems more stable than on the old one.
