Good news!OPIE1.2.2 can be work on Linux phone!

OpenEZX Images built by Michael 'Mickey' Lauer using OpenEmbedded

This is a root filesystem for the OpenEZX project.

In order to use this, you will need to prepare a TransFlash (A780) or SD/MMC (E680) card:

Start with a clean partition table on the card.
Create one primary partition (Partition number 1)
Run mkfs.ext3 on that partiton and
untar the contents of the rootfs archive into the root directory of that partition.
Next you will need a matching kernel that boots from SD/MMC/TF. Use this one.

You will need the boot_usb program from svn.openezx.org to download the kernel image to the phone RAM, and it will continue to boot right into the GUI. For your convenience, here is a x86 binary (linked against libusb, so you will need to have this on your host).

Once booting has finished, you can telnet onto the phone via usbnet. The phone has 192.168.1.2/24, and it expects its default gateway to live at 192.168.1.10 (should be USB host computer!).

The root password is empty (for now).

Finally another one is interested in OPIE 1.2.2. However (what's a pity) our developers are still sleeping. Is there a chance to test OPIE 1.2.2 in this month ? I think it's very difficult because of the world cup in footbal.

I might take some time....but I'm learning how to cross-compile stuff for our phone....so I might try compiling OPIE 1.2.2....(actually, I'm also interested in compiling the GPE Palmtop Environment for this phone)...

So if any of you guys have resources on cross-compiling and stuff, plz let me know....I'd really appreciate it (and it use it for the benefit of this community)...

Yes.the link is correct now.I always stay in ccmove (the most famous community in china).If i find opie 1.2.2 is good,i will pubilish firstly.Thanks administrator again.I am very pleasure in this area.
