Turned off the phone, took out the battery, left it alone for a while. Restarted, reinstalled chmKonqueror. App now works well.

Now the question is how to make the normal font smaller.

Thank you all, especially to sandman and passest

the mtf is a tar.gz you can open it and look at it. so a little background the way an mtf works is it unzips to the root of the phone. so if you have the samba stuff and usblan stuff working then when you go to the system share that's the root of the phone where it unzips too. so like when you browse system you see that you have a dir called mmc/mmca1 ... this is the transflash or flash card part of the phone. so when you look at the zip you also see mmc/mmca1 and then some stuff in that dir.

so to make a long story short the mtf unzips to the flash card and you must have one in the phone for it to succeed in unzipping.

its also worth noting as i poked around in the mtf it looks to me like it unzips files to the mpkg install dir on the transflash which means that you should install this mpkg to transflash when it asks you the location to install to.

so my problem is a bit different. I run it. It says wait a second. then it exits/crashes. So i went ahead and ran it from command prompt. I get seg faults. and also some
fs lock init: sem id 1234.. , not mine
fs init shm @ addr 0x0... , size 123... not mine
    seg fault
launcher.cpp:313 boot KIO::Launcher::createSlaveInternal(const char*, cmsghdr*); Assertion 'slave' failed
    create slave for

i get two command prompt popups one after the seg fault one after the create slave for

edit: ah the secret is step three ... restart phone. i guess it has to add the libraries to the path. anyways works great except no scroll bars.
