Thread: OPIE question

  1. #1

    Default OPIE question

Can an OPIE app (from the pashkowsky cramfs image) run on E680 without stopping the native windowserver?

I seem to understand that stopping the native qws will disable phone features, and I would like to play with OPIE while keeping my phone number active.

So, did anyone succeed in running e.g qasteroids with native qws?

    Thanks,
    Rick

    1. Not sure, will try later, but i guess you can find the answer in the stciky making own native qt apps or at http://marcus.bluetroll.se/e680/
    2. Just put your sim in another phone
    3. Rpconnect has succesfully ran qasteroids with all buttons working i think, for me the buttons dont work, shall try later if they work if i compile opie myself.

yes, you can but there a few problems. some menu items will crash the app. some apps requiring input will have no input keyboards, eg embeddedkonsole. you just need to extract the binary, some required libs and images. then set environment and create qt socket in a script and you're good to go see the sticky thread, i managed to extract backgammon successfully
