Nice! You a fedora core 4 tester? Im waiting for the release of fedora core 4. The release is planned for the 4th of june, right?
Recently, support for the Belcarra "USBNET" software has been added to
the kernel development tree. As of last week, the most recent Fedora
Core 4 Test kernels support it out of the box. You can now plug a
E680/A780 into a bare/unconfigured FC4 system and do:
echo "AT+MODE=99" > /dev/ttyACM0
ifconfig usb0 192.168.1.1
telnet 192.168.1.2
This seems to work great for telnet and smbclient access. I am not
able to mount the samba-exported drives as filesystems, though (the
mount just hangs). Nor am I able to mount the host system on the
phone via NFS (ditto). So there is still some work to do, but
out-of-the-box access via linux is no longer a problem, as long as you
are willing to install a bleeding-edge distribution.
