New Motorola E680g Flashing?

I just bought my first Motorola here in Shanghai. The model is clearly labeled E680g , feature included are pretty average including realplayer, a drawing application, and some other randomly cool options.

Now Im curious if this model G is actually just the same as E680 I, and if its the same operation to flash?

Also apon flashing I must ask, What are the best programs to replace the ones sitting there? if someone could kindly reccomend something for the following apps.

Movie Player:
Power Point:
Image Viewer:
Calendar:
IM:
Alarm:
World Time:
Draw:
Email:

PS> I am also operating on Mac OSX, however I can use windows if need be, but only under virtual PC.

Thanks in advanced, I have browsed through the forums, but since I saw nothing for this model of phone. I thought I would ask in advance.

Also anyone can tell me if there is a way to back up the OS incase flashing fails?

why do you want your e680g to e680i? i think the firmware if the g is same good or better/newer..

i still use e680 with its org. firmware (not i and not g).
