i use lame with the standard preset - variable bitrate (VBR)

i think thats the best choice: if you get "easy" music parts a bitrate of 32kb is choosen and on the other side at complex parts the bitrate will be 320kb. the average is mostly around 192kb pro track.

that could be, but who has and use wma? the whole world is full of mp3's an the other thing is not every operating-system/device are allowed or can to play wma, cause its only a M$ property thing.

i think mp3 is franhouver's propertie too .. but in 128 kBps, oog is the best, don't worry ..

i've converted all my music to .wma by using WME 9.0 (Pocket PC Voice/Music Quality) and it works fine,
there's a review by Chip that .ogg is the best music format for portable devices
but i'm still using it cause it's smaller than ogg or mp3... :

    - actually i'm using wme 9.1 sorry, didn't noticed the versions

    - when playing *.wma (what i find out) using realplayer ,only the artist name appears in the tag properties even if you fill in the
details ,anyone have the same problems?(maybe there's something wrong with the id tag)

    - when using "pocket pc" settings ,the bitrates are only 37kbps Stereo (realplayer detects as 22Khz/32Kbps) (voice Q)
& 70kbps Stereo (Haven't Tried Yet) (Music Q) Is this really adequate? (without Distortion or noise to the songs)

    - what i know is *.wma 64kbps = *.mp3 128kbps/Near cd Quality (Correct me if i'm wrong).
