I seem to have the same problem with my e680i not starting. It will not power up. I thought it may be the battery however after taking it to a shop I'm told the battery tests as fine. Plugging in the wall charger does not seem to activate the charging circuits - no orange charging light.

Pressing the power button causes the d-pad to flash with blue light for about half a second but the phone will not power on.

The phone has worked reliably for almost 2 years. I would hope that it will work again some day as I would miss using it very much.

press upper right side (camera button) + below left side (volume down button) and power on button << follow the sequence... see any blue screen come up... if so, then your phone can be flash and the problem maybe the firmware only...

tried that, saw blue screen for firmware flash then the back light goes out and I can see the display become distorted and disappear. Waited for some time then tried the key combination again. Now screen flashes white then goes out.

actually your battery have no more power... find a battery charger... charge it for two hours and you can start flashing your phone...

I found a Universal Charger and think I may have managed to charge the battery. At least when I press the buttons to enter flash mode the phone display remains lit. Now I will have to read more about flashing the phone if this is what is required.

When I flash the phone will I lose my data such as phone numbers, calendars and other files?

Oh, phone will still not power up normally. Orange charge light flashes briefly when charger cable inserted and then removed.

Well, I can see from the universal charger that the battery is being charged. I've since switched to an old Bosch phone so that I can at least call and answer calls while I figure out the best course of action for my e680i.

If flashing the firmware will solve my problems I have to ask this question: what could cause my firmware to become corrupt and require me to reflash my phone? I've not installed any themes (which seem to cause problems based on reading other's postings). I did install the nice Sudoku game that was made available here as well as a timer application that I use quite often. I don't believe I've done anything else that would cause my firmware to become corrupt.
