Screen does not respond

I have a problem. The problem is that my touchscreen for my E680 has stopped responding. I cant add new contacts cant view messages etc. The phone is still working I can answer the phone using the buttons at the bottom but thats all, the screen does not respond at all when I use my stylus. I am not sure what to do to fix the problem. All companies here in South Africa have refused to even look at the phone as they have never seen it before.

may sound stupid but did u try to Lock/Unlock your phone and rebooting phone...
and if still same problem, can/did you try to reflash? it may solve the problem.

Switching it of and on I have done a lot of times. I have done the process of holding the volume button and the camera button and the answer button which I guess is flashing it and still the same problem. The phone works just that the screen does not respond to anything.

Did you ever resolve this problem? I have the same problem with my e680i. It happened to me about two months ago and I had to live without the touchscreen for about 3 weeks. One day it started working, and I had about six weeks where it worked perfectly. It went out again today. It behaves exactly as you describe it. Any ideas anyone?

I never managed to get this resolved. My guess is that we need to buy new screens. Im located in South Africa and I hear that these screens can be bought in Malaysia, Singapore, China etc. I wsh I could get details of the name of the companies so that I could talk to them directly

actually that's just putting the phone in bootloader mode NOT flashing the phone.

and do you have a screen protector on? its possible that the screen protector is too thick that your touchscreen won't recognize any contact.

I have the same problem, I think that screen is not the problem, because when the screen tourn off in 30 sec a can turn on tapping the screen. I open my phone and cleaned some contact and work for a couple of days. I live in venezuela and here nobody want to try of fix my phone. sorry for my english.
