I need help-E680 SMS cannot access

Hi...I'm totally newbie here, I need someone to help me how to fix the sms application problem on my E680...when I try to check my SMS it's always said..."Waiting for DB ..." and its never done although I tried several times to go to SMS function...is this harware or software problem ??? Appreciate for anyone if can help me...tks

Hi Swifty...tks for your attention, I never make any backup of my native.db since beginning...and I'm not familiar with Linux OS...I tried to explore my phone inside the hidden system I have no idea what is missing inside there, I read several topic and I'm interesting if I could upgrade my E680 into E680i but I really don't have any idea how to start, is this upgrade firmware can solve my problem ??? Tks
