Problem w/ contacts and text msg.

ok...my phone's already dead if uve seen the other topic i created. never worked again....
however, my mom's phone has a problem as well. it's also an e680.
problem is: all the contacts seem to have completely disappeared all of a sudden. you can't add new contacts at all, nor can u even load up the text msg screen. All it does is show a loading screen labeled, "Waiting for DB". And it won't stop loading. recent calls still work, but the contacts each number had once been assigned to and named are gone, so it only just shows the phone number.

it happened to mine once before. The reason is due to that I accumulated too many sms (like 1000 smses) in the inbox and sent folders and I deleted them all in one shot. After the deletion, I faced the exact problem that you have now.

It ended up with a Master reset and master clear which fixed the problem. You can give it a trial.

Your /ezxlocal/sysDatabase/native.db file is corrupt. You shouldn't have to do a master reset/clear, just copy these files into /ezxlocal/sysDatabase/:

/.backup/log.0000000003
/.backup/native.db
/.backup/native_id.db

However, BEFORE copying those files over, copy your /ezxlocal/sysDatabase/native.db to your computer. Chances are your data (contacts, SMSs, emails) are still in that file, but are just corrupted. You can try using the the usync backup script ( http://www.www.motorolafans.com/inde...ight=native.db ) or running 'strings native.db' to at least see your data, and then you can manually reenter it into the phone. (The last sentence assumes you're running Linux on your computer, if not a text editor might work ok).
