is ther ea way to uninstall? jus curious![]()
Taking a queue from our friend Yantz, I've whipped up a quick script to enable the Wireless Village IM program on handsets (like mine) that don't come with it.
Since the script doesn't contain an actual program, I'm hoping it's okay to post here.
Here's the package it installs the icons (I don't know if it's needed but since we're treating it as an "Installed QT" instead of preloaded application, I figured it couldn't hurt) and a wvimps_installer.lin script to run with Yantz's lin_loader. This script creates the entry in InstalledDB and copies the executable to /diska.
It's possible to make InstalledDB entries that fire it off from where it's preinstalled, but then you get "App" and no proper icons.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks

You can remove the /diska/.system/QTDownLoad/wvimps directory, but you'll have to edit the /ezxlocal/download/appwrite/am/InstalledDB to remove the reference to it. It may also be possible just to check "Uninstall" from the icon but I haven't tried that yet.
are u singaporean, how do u connect? i used yamingo but still can't connect
I'm in the USA, and I connect using Cingular's "MEdia" service which allows non port 80 connections. I've been able to log into Yamigo and send messages to/from theirs BOTS. Since I don't know anyone on there, I haven't tried contacting people directly.
My setup is as follows:
Server Address: www.yamigo.com
Port: 80
Post URL: /wv/control
User ID: wv:myuserid
Password: mypassword
Remember Password: checked
Secure Login: Unchecked
Good luck.
Is this gonna be cheaper than using those that are from ISP like yahoo messenger...which like charge 30cents or 15cents /message sent??
I tink this one is based on GPRS charges only rite?
looks like we got another "developer" in the list...hehe![]()
