Thread: Headphone Jack

  1. #1

    Default Headphone Jack

    Does the e680 use a regular 2.5mm jack or a 2.5mm 4c one?
I'm thinking of buying the headphones here

    e680/i has a 2.5mm 4c one with 4 connetions

if you wanna use other headphones then you have to resoldering the original motorola headset cable to the new headphones.

the miniBuds - headphones, they looks cheap, maybe no good sound quality.

the best thing to do if you wanna have a good headphones, go shopping and test out many headphones with an 2.5 to 3.5 hetaphones adaptor BEFORE you buy it.
i did that too before i bought a headphones.

ok then is there any GOOD 2.5mm headsets that anybody knows about?
And if not where can I get a good adapter, I just bought a stereo 2.5mm - 3.5mm jack at radio shack but it makes the output mono

do not insert the 2.5mm - 3.5mm jack propperly, more halfway until you hear the sound in stereo.
    Motorola e680 (flashed to e680i) + 4Gb SD card + HT820 Stereo BT Hedphones,
    Ubuntu 6.10 + 7.04,
    Nokia N95 + 8Gb microSD

Almost all 2.5mm headphones are only made for phone use since this type of jack is almost used only in phones. So these headphones are not rated to have outstanding quality even the stereo ones(even if the promo say that it's good hehehe). I hope that this change in near future because there are more and more phones coming out supporting features that require better audio output

Agree with y-cyas about this, but if not mistaken,it's just "both mono" but not stereo, right?

Anyway, insert halfway is not that "proper" la,did anyone here ever bought a good 2.5-3.5 adaptor that can insert fully and get stereo sound?please....i need that too.

If anyone can find one,i'm sure it make better sound compare to original handfree.....

    no, its stereo...
one bad thing has it., when someone calling you then you can not speak over the headphones like the original phone headset. -so its better when you resoldering the good headphones to the original motorola cable.
