Can the home screen be changed?

Can it be changed so it shows the nexts calendar event instead of the meetings?

Sorry I probably aint explained enough. I'm wanting to know if theres a way to having the next calendar event showing instead of showing the "no meetings" bit on the homescreen. The image below shows the "No meetings" bit.

It will only show events that are occurring that day. Not events in future days
