How to Cleanly uninstall .pkg files

i reinstalled it and it seems like it's working. I tried to play a 3gp video that i recorded from the phone. It plays in Real Player fine but with ZMplayer only the video works but not the audio. Is there a different conversion i have to try. This post may be for the ZM post

our eakrin, MotoFans Developer solve the install / uninstall the .pkg apps in one operation with auto refresh the apps and do not needs to delete certain file and folder thru usb mass storage mode at E6 .system hidden folder.

and use Bint's showQ, use BusyBox from www.busybox.net

What's new in EzxMpkg Installer
- Use showQ to display question and message. Installer will confirm installation. this protect us from accidently tap on pkg file.
- create a backup of CardRegistry before installation new pkg file in the same folder where CardRegistry is.
- Auto refresh application manager after installation finish. so no need to restart phone anymore. (from shadow_cruiser)
- set default animate icon to Home_QT icon if not specific from pkg. so all pkg application have a animate icon now.
- Pkg package can set more feature like Animate icon, Daemon status, Group ID, User ID, Visible status. (see packaging readme)
- can be localize in another UTF-8 language. (see localize readme.)

when,

1st time tap on MPKG icon = " uninstallation mode "
u can uninstall the application and checking properties when press on the application icon for 3 seconds.

2nd time tap on MPKG icon = " normal mode "
now, u can run / launch any .pkg application installed in the phone and SD memory card without problem.

well i got tired of having a bar code reader that didn't work and i had to install a duplicate of the emulator i installed lol so i figured out that if you open up the registry with notepad (i use notepad++ because it was made for coding so it makes life so much easier) and delete certain portions, the file will be uninstalled and no icon will be left in applications menu.

**Disclaimer** i have tested this method and it worked completely without effecting my phone except for how i wanted it to (uninstall .pkg programs) but follow this procedure at your own risk, i am in no way responsible if you mess up your phone.


Suggested Programs:

Notepad++ (freeware) gr8 for coding, makes your life a whole lot easier, if you use notepad you will be searching for the right spot for a while, so not needed but strongly suggested, get it here http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm

Total time: under 1 minute to 10 minutes depending on how many files you want to delete.

Steps.

1. Plug in your e6 in mass storage mode.
2. if you do not have "view hidden folders" enabled on windows then follow next step, if you do have view hidden folders enabled then skip step 3.
3. open up my computer, click on tools>folder options>view> click show hidden files and folders.
4. open up your phone root folder
5. go to system>QTDownLoad

6. delete the folder of the application you want to delete
7. go to the phone root folder
8. go to system>java

9. Open "CardRegistry" with notepad++ (or notepad)
10. scroll down in the notepad file until you find the name of the program that you want to delete, it will look something like the picture. in the picture i have zmplayer selected, for the purpose of this demonstration.

11. Select the whole block starting from the "[]" and ending with the "visible="
12. Delete the sleeted block
13. Rinse and repeat
14. once you have deleted everything you want to delete, save the file in its original location overwriting the original file.
15. pat yourself on the back because you are done!
16. you do not need to restart your phone, it will have already been deleted.
