It might... But yeah what it does is extend the memory of the phone a bit. Not the storage space, it's kinda like RAM. Kinda... If you activate swap, then you will notice a big dif in speed.![]()
I've been reading a bit about the app "33swapmem" and swaping in general. Either I'm having a newbie moment or it's just too late. Ether way it's not making sense to me. All I get so far is it makes your phone run faster.
First of all what exactly is swaping?
Second, Does "33swapmem" work with the e6? If so can someone explain step-by-step how to use the app. The more detail the better. I want to swap with GPSP.
Thanks

I'm so cool, I had the E6 before the E2 launched! Wait. Never mind...
I read on ccmove swapmem33 has been modified to work on the E6 ..
btw you need to disable the swap in order to have usbmode workin ....
I found away to make the A1200 version work on my phone ( basicly it somehow rendered all my apps from my registry unusable when i first installed it so i got around that the hard way( by uninstaling them all and reinstalling them after the memswap was installed)
btw always back up your registry before installing something , you never know when it ll come handy )
but once I had it workin i noticed something : it does NOT make the phone faster at all .. I did a few tests and the phone doesnt respond faster at all , maybe the ' improved version ' at ccmove does a diffrence i dunno ...
I think the E6 is simply faster and more powerfull then the A1200 , so far I never experienced lag at all with the phone ( I tried all emu avasilable and some A12090 user say they experiencing some lag in certain games , while I didnt) .. so imho this memswap thingy is either not workin ... or nto worth it al all for us
Ok well it's beginning to make sense. But it doesn't sound like its worth the trouble. The lag is very minimal on GPSP. So it's nothing major.
Thanks.
Has anyone just tried running a script to do the memory swap? It might do the job without installing it.

so you dont experience much lag in games O.oOriginally Posted by DAGr8

anyways
so basically we cant use the swap from the A1200 forums? or has it already been modified to work on the E6?
would this script work for the e6? i found it on the A1200 forums

alright apparently that script does not work. it wouldn't create the swap file.
i did test the 33swapmem on the game Mario & Luigi and i gota say, i feel a LOT less lag than before. Before i could hardly move around and jump. Now i can move freely and jump all i want. so now i think that it would be nice if we could increase the swap size. the script from before doesnt work so i dont know how to create a bigger swap file. anyone got a solution?
edit: also, after applying the swapmem and playing a game and quitting, i found my system memory status to be at 38%, which is 9% lower than i usually get.
let me make a correction to what posted before. after applying only 12mb, i can see that just about every game runs smoother than before. only downside is that the games take longer to load but that doesnt matter, once it loads you're good.
So what exactly do you do?Originally Posted by CpxAzn
-Install swapmem33
-Open swapmem33 - (hear 'ding') Swap File is created
Now what? Are you good to go? GPSP will run faster now?
I've read if you open the program again the swap is removed (you hear 'ding dong'.)
Thanks
yeah, u run the swapmem and you should hear a 1 ding. then it has been activated, GPSP should run smoother, but the game load i believe will take longer, at least for me it does. you need to run swapmem again if you restart your phone
