You can change backlight to maximum imediately by holding Call button in 1-2 seconds.
Didn't see an existing thread on this, so thought I'd start one myself. Lets have those tricks/tips etc on the E6. Since most of us never bother with the manual, this is sure to help.
Tip 1: Highlight any word/tel number/sentence, press down on the screen for a few secs and you'll get a pop up with options similar to the right click on the mouse. You can cut/copy and paste items in different locations.
p.s. forgive me if this is obvious to long term moto users. This is my first moto so still getting used to the interface.
keep em coming...

sweet!
Does anyone know if there's a way to keep the bluetooth in discovery mode permanently?
hmm. I would think that would drain the battery faster. I normally just leave mine set to on and when I get into my car it detects and connectsOriginally Posted by Rtech_78
Well you can make it stay on for longer. Open up ezx_bluetooth.cfg in WordPad and change the value for discoverable period to whatever you want. BTW, to get the file telnet and then go to /ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/ in samba.
I'm so cool, I had the E6 before the E2 launched! Wait. Never mind...
Time set for discoverable is sensible. Not really need to be always visible because every device that is paired once will be paired every next time without searching.
o k! I'll pretend to understand what you just wrote!Originally Posted by imahottguy

thats what i figured as well, but it doesn't seem to be happening. I've "bonded" with another P910i, but after i disconnect, it (the 910i) doesn't detect the phone again unless I put it on discovery mode.because every device that is paired once will be paired every next time without searching.
Also, what is that "lock" setting for?
I think P910i doesnt save history of devices.
@RTech_78: It's not that difficult to do actually. Are you able to telnet your E6? If you just open up my computer and type '//192.168.16.2/system/' (w/o the ' ' though) and your in. Just navigate to /ezxlocal/download/appwrite/setup/ and you'll have a ton of .cfg files. These are all pretty much straight forward files. For instance, you can freeze or unfreeze the shortcuts in here. Also, you can change the web button to be whatever in here. In addition, you can change the min number length, so that way it'll recagnize 7 digit long numbers as your contacts and etc. The setup directory is where probably 75% of all mods on this phone will take place.
Also, if you mess up a file in here, the phone has a backup directory of these files in /usr/setup/ (i think that's the path). Originally, these files are in CG42. So if you want to make a custom f/w of your own files, which i will demonstrate in a later topic, just copy those files over to the folder where the CG42 files are (in linux) and overwrite and bam! all of your settings are saved.
