Default Discussion: ROKR now with VOICE DIAL & '''OFFICE EDITOR'''

Hey everyone . I just wanted to tell that the ROKR E6 being sold over here in my city comes with "OFFICE EDITOR" (not picsel viewer ) & also has voice dialing enabled . I don't know the F/W but the F/W has screen 3 enabled . I edited a document on ROKR E6 . Neways I brought a new black MING for 325 $ . The ROKR costs around 394 $ .

P.S : Is there any chance that the editor can work on my MING .

Yes! Is there any way that you can get your hands on it for like 5 minutes? Just to see the f/w version? It's non invasive of the phone. Just type WWW008W on the phone to see what the f/w is. It would be very useful for us!
I'm so cool, I had the E6 before the E2 launched! Wait. Never mind...

if the firmware can be determined ( dial WWW008W, where W is made by going to insert > insert + wait )

tell us the firmware, then maybe we can run it for EVERYONE <3

Damn, isn't there a way to make that firmware stay onscreen for more than a second?

However, the India version does not support voice dialing nor does it have and editor. It has the same viewer for office documents.

Edit: ok, it ends with .08P if that helps!

    yep that definitely does help.

if i'm not mistaken. it should be 11.12.08p which has been released to this forum already.

And it is confirmed this firmware doesnt have EDITOR nor VOICEDIAL.

so bugmenot must be using some other firmware, which we still need to identify.

hmmm, I doubt the inclusion of an editor. The official press releases here only claim the viewer. anyways, lets see if it is real or not. Would love to have these additions.

Hey everyone . I haven't touched my Ming yet , been too busy lately .

Regarding the f/w on ROKR i wud try to find it within the next week .
I also saw the press release mentioning ONLY VIEWER and hence i confirmed it by editing a file myself . Also , i think there is some note app in that f/w in it which save docs in .txt format .

That would be AWESOME! It would truly make this a PDA Phone. W/ edge speeds (Yeah, so what if it's 2.5G) and the ability to edit office docs, this could pose as a business phone as well. Not that I'll use it for that purpose lol

This phone is just very good for entertainment. So if it has office editor, it will be more helpful.
