    Default Add USBNet

This has not been confirmed yet. Use at your own risk. I would test it myself, but my ROKR E6 won't be here for 2-3 days.

I've been having alot of fun messing w/ the E6 f/w. I looked @ the Flexbit table (similar to SEEM's for P2k) and noticed that the option for USBnet in connections list was off. So i enabled it. In this script + the flexbit file i'm attaching it works similar to that of the script for the shortcuts. However, this one backs up your Flexbit table first, in case for some odd reason it doesn't work correctly. Be sure to extract both to MMC Root. Click on script, it will backup your flexbit, copy over the new and restart. Have fun. Once installed, you can delete the two files from the MMC Root. Enjoy. Also attached is the script to restore your Flexbit.

To clairfy, Flexbit.rar is what will do the mod to hopefully allow the USBNet Option, which i hear is not working atm. restore is only for those who may feel that Flexbit messed up their phone. If you use restore w/o using flexbit, nothing will happen. Thanks for DAGr8 for bringing this up to my attention.

UPDATE: My e6 will be here within the next 3 days, so i will be able to test this mod and fine tune it until it works. It may require a reflash w/ the modded flexbit to work. Sometimes, mods only work that way. Such as editing the Ring Styles list, or changing the LP completely to have only one language.

I'm so cool, I had the E6 before the E2 launched! Wait. Never mind...

    Does this method actually work?

I need some easy way to telnet to E6.

I do not dare to flash the phone, because all settings will disappear.
(I cannot backup because I have no WinXP so MPT are not running.
Funny thing - to sync/backup the Phone with Linux I need usbnet ... )

I tried the at+mode=13 thing, but no success either. Can it be that this only
    works at the A1200?

    Any other idea?

A .pkg or .lin package would be really great.

this AT Command "at+mode=13" works for E6,
even if your phone not flashing yet.
of course, you have to switch "USB to modem mode" firstly
that`s in [setup] -> [USB] in your phone.

the command you typed might not shown on the screen,
    but once the command given.
you`ll see the 2 lines on your screen:

    Will Launch MotoNet, Exit Modem.
    OK
    phone: Motorola E6
    firmware version: R533_G_11.12.02P
with old old old kernel in the OS:
    MontaVista(R) Linux(R) Consumer Electronics Edition 3.1
    Linux/armv5tel 2.4.20_mvlcee31-mainstone_pxa27x

I tried it from a terminal program
    (cutecom) Parameter: 4800Bd 8N1 to /dev/ttyACM0

regardless what I try to send the terminalprogramm freezes and the
    Phone does nothing.
... not the right parameters, perhaps?

    I also tried echo at+mode=13 > /dev/ttyACM0
    no result.

I use Linux, but if it works with Hyperterm in Windows every other terminal program in Linux should for sure do the job!!

Can only be that this relies on the driver. But in my opinion just passing
a command to the interface should not need a driver, should it?

    Just managed the first problem..
(I set the USB to modem mode, but found out that I have
to start the modem extra on the phone. (modem launch automatically))

I can ping to the phone, but trying to telnet gives me
    ... connection refused

Do I need to install the telnet_a120.pkg on the phone first?

what f/w are you on? the thing is that you don't necessarily need that MPKG.

Either this or there is a package allowing you to write telnet and samba on the SD card. I attached the one I used. Please note that telnet does not seem to work on my phone - only samba works.
