  1. Default 4gb Memory problem

I bought a transcend memory card, before the E6 arrived, I then found out there were issues with that card. so to be safe I bought the A-data card (pink label) So heres the issue.

The transcend card works perfect except for connecting the phone in USB mass storage mode. I have to remove the card put it in my card reader to transfer files.

The A-Data card only shows as 1.89gb in both the phone & PC. How can I get it back to 4gb? While it only shows half the size I can use it in Mass storage mode.

have you formated the card from the phone? It might fix it, let me check what other card our users are using.

I had the same problem as your A-Data with my transcend. according to the merchant i returned it to, he said i did not format the card properly... and nothing can be done.. so i ate the 15% restocking fee.

What size does disk management show of your card? does it show unused partition?

I think the trick to formatting new cards is that you either format it to a 4gb partition, or don't format it at all. find another device that can recognize it as 4gb.

I formatted both cards in the phone. The Adata card is reconized by both PC & Phone as 1.89gb. I'll see what my other PC shows.

E6 does not support 4gb originally, but still can be read by the phone, only problem is to connect to pc, you most use card reader to do trasfer for 4gb card, and about the problem with formatting, i have the same problem when i use a nokia phone with a unsupported card size, it will get fixed by formatting it with computer.

I tried formatting it on 3 PC's still only shows 1.86gb, I think their is something wrong with the card. I'm sending it back for replacement.

I guess E6 should be only supporting fat16, and fat16 is limited to 2G size

I guess that's why u can only see the 4G from E6 as around 2G

if my guess is right, that would be limit of fat16 file system, not your SD Card's fault

I think its just a matter of having the right card. We need to research more in the cards that work. And make new members aware of what cards not to buy.

I think something is wrong with the card. Windows has seen it as a 4gb once but when I would try to open the card it froze my PC. I tried reformatting it a windows formatted it as 1.86gb.
My Transcend 4gb card works were others reported they don't. The Adata card doesn't work were most are saying that it does work.
