I got my phone couple weeks ago from Hong Kong Motorola store. I looked up the Motorola HK website and China website. I found barcode scanner feature only listed in China Motorola website. I think if the phone bought in HK most likely don't have barcode scanner feature. My next question is: can I install the barcode scanner application and where can I found the package?
Please help.
I brought my phone from HK-mobiles and it has the barcode reader but I wouldn't loose any sleep over not having it. All it does is an optical char recognition on the square matrix barcodes. Used for URL's etc.
Don't know why they wrote it. You scan these sample barcodes and it then opens up a URL in the web browser.
That's odd, my firmware is 11.12.02p and I have the barcode reader. It should be in the menu. Dunno if they changed it recently or what not.
I can not seem to find the Barcode reader either my firmware is 11.12.02p too would you want to tell me exactly where it is ? I hope you don't think it's the BCReader :P That's a Business card reader

As mentioned above, the barcode reader app is not on the current unbranded firmwares
