The phone is Triband.
Quadband has to be enabled via the Seem but no one has tryed to attempt it yet.
If you are already an owner of the E690 could you please dial this:
WWW008W
in your E6 phone (you can enter the W via the dialing menu) and tell me if it says "quadband" or "triband" GSM? Don't worry, you won't be charged for this specific dial.
Also, *if* you have an unlimited internet subscriber with your carrier, please try to download something (e.g. a 100 KB zip file from a fast server) and see if it downloads at about 2 KB/sec or at about 10 KB/sec (just do an estimation on the downloading speed). If it's the latter, then the phone is EDGE-capable -- even if Motorola doesn't say so.
many thanks!

I just tried the same edit on the E6 as the E2 to enable GSM 850MHz and it was unsuccessful. The Technology still reads as Tri-band![]()
