Thread: [SOFWTARE]Motorola Phone Tools (Latest)

    What do you mean by ACM? I usually use modem mode, but I have tried mass storage as well. It worked as recently as a few days ago when I backed it up before flashing, but I've tried about four different ROMs now and I can't get it to sync again, except for one fluke which I was unable to repeat.

    When you put the phone into "modem mode" via Setting->USB mode, modem mode itself could initialize the phone into other different modes: ACM, P2K, CDC, etc.

    The safest way could be manually putting ACM mode:
    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    echo MotACM > /proc/motusbd
    or using application such sysinfo

    Jendral, I couldn't find the link to the software. How should I enter that code? I am not a programmer so please be specific if you can. Thanks!

    Got it. So this program gives me four modes, none of which is "ACM". They are Modem, Product Support, Network (USBLAN), and Netwoek (CDC). Which one should I use?

    ...And the problem is solved, though not through any understandable methods. I'm sure I had already tried all versions of drivers, but I got it to sync after uninstalling 4.8, installing 4.7.1, and then reinstalling 4.8.
    These driver numbers are what the files say downloaded from moto, but in device manager when I look at the drivers for the motorola modem, they say 4.5 after installing 4.7.1, and 4.7 after installing 4.8.
    Maybe it's of relevance that I uninstalled the drivers using the installer, rather than device manager. Maybe not. Thanks to everyone for the support. In the end I don't dare to try the ROM I originally wanted to try; I'm just sticking with what I flashed to since I have no confidence in this thing.

    ACM should be "Modem"

    Looks like the problem (merely) lies within the driver, no. Well done, after all
