problem with usb

hi again...
I've come up with a different problem
well straight to topic my phone works well as a usb when used as a modem
but when it comes to mass storage it disconnects and reconnects continuously..
the connecting and disconnecting sound comes all again & again & yet again....
when i try to access it the computer says I/o error on the device...
do i need to flash my phone???

did u try to reset ur one? i mean set it back to factory seetings. and if it does not work then flash ur phone with any gud firmware

i reseted the phone and the problem is much bigger now...
can't attend any calls and cant send messages even....
and the phone's master rest also fails now...

what to do????
phone stills works well on modem mode...
i mean its charges but mpt is not detecting it...
also when i put it into mbm mode for flashing it does not shows its IMEI no which i guess means that6 phone is not properly connected....
