help....icons disappear after every time i restore a backup

guys help me...
every time i flash, i need to restora a backup of my contacts, messages,etc. But when i restore the backup, some icons disappear such as the icons of those applications which were not existing in the previous version..why is this and what is the solution for this?

This stupid thing prevents me from using the latest features of the f\w flashed..

Do you use Smart assistant for backing up?

yes i use smart assistant to backup and restore..

I faced the same
Do one thing flash with 8p genric and restore the same file.
Again take the backup from 8p then again flash with modded firmware of your choice then restore.

that is what i did....when i had generic 08p, i made a backup and after i flash my mobile with a new firmware and restore the backup, the icons of extra features of the firmware are not displayed.The icons are displayed before restoring but after restoring the icons disappear

for example,

8p generic doesnot have instheme installed and hence no icon of instheme.....then, i make a backup using smartassistant...after backing up i flash my mobile to some other new firmware which has instheme preinstalled and the instheme icon appears....after i restore the backup the instheme icon is gone....

this is my problem

because of this idiotic thing i cannot use the features of the new firmware....

man this actually bcoz in d new smart asst it takes the backup of "maindb" file which stores the data of ur apps so wat happens is tat wen u restore it it restores d old fw maindb file which will not hav d registers of new fw so wat u do is tat take a physical backup of ur maindb file which will b present in the rootfs folder den restore the contacts then place ur orginal maindb folder again

no it wont b lost coz dis file which u gonna take as a backup will nly hav d records of the apps which user have installed the preloaded apps in the fw will b in a separate db file which can b found in CG34 (i suppose)
