problems in connecting E6 as a modem

hi all i found some problems when i connect myE6 as a modem to my PC.the problems are 1.it is very difficult to connect E6 as a modem you have click a hundred times on "redial" or on "internet connection" 2.when it is connected it becomes very hot in five minutes. it so hot that u can not hold it atonce.plz tell if there is any solutions or else everybody facing the same problem[

Dude, i have connected but not browsed(surfed on the net) , in that i've not faced any such problem.
And to connect thru modem ,its not difficult for me.
Tell me what you do to connect ?Also tell your f/w .

You just need to do the followin:

Home >Setup> USB Mode> Modem

This would put ur E6 in Modem mode..

pls check with another battery if possible
heating problem mostly related to battery

my f/w is 08p.N after selecting modem in the phone i will connect through usb cable,rite?N what do i have to do after that?Have never done it before and am very naive about this.

yes you have to connect through usb cable, after putting your phone in modem mode , open mpt(motorola phone tools) then select model and try to connect

thanks for the reply.N can u tell me which MPT works for windows vista basic because the disk that comes with the phone is not working in it.
