dumb question

Ok I am trying to set up my voicemail for the first time, never had voice mail before. when i go to the voice mail set on my phone, what number do i put in there? i got a txt msg from my service provider saying to set up my voice mail jsut hold down the "1" key and put in my passcode. that didnt work for me.

Just a suggestion for our modders. Using voicemail, costs too much, cuz most of the times, people leave very stupid messages, and for every message, it costs 5 bucks plus GPRS charges. To overcome this issue, I found an interesting app, for nokia 5800. This app picks up the call, just like automatic answer is set to true, and plays any small audio clip, and then start recording the call. This way, we can check the message, without paying any charges. Wondering, can someone try the same for E6 too.

answer machine in our E6 thats cool hope someone could develop it because voice mail charges here are very expensive

Why has the thread been hijacked? Somebody answer the original question!

The 1 key is hotwired to something else in our phone. You will need to call up the operator again and ask them for help, telling you that holding down the 1 key is reserved for other purposes in your phone. They should be able to come up with something else.

Somebody already had this problem. Visit the A1200 section, i think it was there. About 4/5 months back or something.

Sorry for hijacking the thread. Didn't wanted to create a thread, just for suggestion. Also, if some one can try that application, we won't have to depend on service providers or their stupid setup techniques. I guess, in a way, I had an answer to the exact issue.
