plz explain the difference between mmc/sd/micro sd/sdhc/mini sd

firstly iam a noob dont know anything asking this question..plz forgive me if its not correct.
1.i have read in many forums that we use sd cards in our e6 .is that sd means mmc or other?
2.i know about micro sd we will use this type of cards in our v3 ,z6etc... phones.
3.and mini sd willbe used in nokia n73 (i kno only one).
4.i dont know about sdhc .plz tell me in which type of mobiles this type of cards will be used?
5.can we insert micro sd in our e6 using the adapter which will be provided with the card?
iam posting this thread because i want to buy an sdhc card.yesterday i asked him to give me an sdhc,he asked me the model of the mobile,but i dont know in which mobile we will use this cards..kindly plz explain this.

1. SD = secure digital card quite same as MMC but can be protected, even some friend of mine said that it support encryption (lol i really dont know if it can )
2. microSD = based on transflash, microSD is the smaller size of SD
3. miniSD = based on SD with smaller size factor
4. SDHC = secure digital high capacity, the next generation of SD supporting larger capacity, recent phone usually supported these kind of memory
5. sure, i'm using 2gb microSD with adapter in my e6,

for SDHC you should apply a kernel patch cause basically e6 only support SD card with 2gb maximum capacity .

every phone supporting larger than 4 gb mem, is supporting sdhc, motorola latest phone is supporting these type of memory such as ZN5, E8,etc , I using 8 gb SDHC on my e6 by applying kernel patch, but its a waste for me since the battery is only stand for 6 hours of music playback (should buy new battery ).. I wonder how long music playback of 8 gb will be

SD.. considering the size of it it usually used by digital camera, PDA, only some smartphone use this card (old model) modern phone use smaller form of these card (miniSD or microSD) considering its compact size and the smaller the size more less it consume the battery (shorter circuit) for the technical explanation you can read here Secure Digital card - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

suspended for a while. i'm doing my regular job as 3D animator, now my work get to rendering process, maybe in few days it'll finished so i can continue this project i can't hardly wait though but my regular job really consume my brain resource

thanks for ur support, but i (and my friend of course) try to use the old system, only changing the visual interface, cause write down a new OS is beyond my ability, and for camera & battery, any improvement on software would be no more than 5-10% cause its definitely hardware stuff, it require to change entire power block to make battery last long and a new camera sensor for better picture
