    Exclamation Permanent Overclocking?

If we replace the modified apmd file with the firmware's file, that would clock the processor of the phone to the modified speed forever. But, could overclocking the processor permanently damage the processor? If I overclock my E6 to 520 (Hz or mHz, whatever), do I risk overheating and possible damage to my phone? Also, what could be the safe limits for overclocking ? Is it 520 or somewhere less?

I'm not an expert on the issue, but obviously the clock speed is set to what it's set because motorola decided that it's the best operating speed for that chip.

Besides, you are probably well aware that there's no active cooling system in the phone. So i'd really think twice before setting up a permanent overclock on the phone.

Well, yesterday I overclocked my phone to play the classic Dangerous Dave.
I forgot to set it back to normal, and so it was left overclocked at 624mhz for about 12 hours.

I, though, wouldn't want a permanent overclock. It's ok to overclock now and then, but I wouldn't overdo it.

I tried overclocking to 520. The phone has remained quite stable and the firmware has been good. Although, only half a day has passed since the flashing. No heating issues till now, although I dont really use my phone for texting or talking.More or less, it remains like a PDA with hacks and the antenna remains off. I'll continue testing for some more days and post the results. Real player has surely become superb, with minimal lag.

That's exactly what I am wondering. What damages can overclocking do to my phone? What are the consequences and are they reversible or permanent?

    >What damages can overclocking do to my phone?
It will drain more power, killing RAM or/and CPU, Overheating melting plastic or some applications can run toooo fast

    >What are the consequences and are they reversible or permanent?
In the worst case you will have a nice paperweight!
But, i have not seen a bricked mobile because of overheating.
    Will yours be the first?
