While I will say I did buy it used off ebay, it was only a few months used and was in excellent exterior shape when it arrived. So I really don't know 100% the actual condition of the phone when I got it, I don't think it was abused. Myself dropped it a few times though but it was built like a tank and I never actually had anything other than some scratches on the corners.
But the digitizer/touchscreen stopped responding completely one night. I tried to reflash several times and then sent it to a repair man who relaced the digitizer but it still would not respond at all (his measurements suggest the motherboard is at fault). I decided to just stop spending time/money on it anymore and buy a new phone.
My Best phone EVER.. the new EM30
It was just outside warranty period too so that sort of po'd me off. But I stopped to think and realized just how darn unreliable cellphones are! They have to be one of most unreliable electronic devises ever. My E6 went out, before that my nokia flip was dead forever when it fell into some water, before that my other Nokia flip developed a lcd issue after a year, etc. My wifes blackberry died and all of my friends have had phone issues at a scary rate as well. Why?
Hate to suggest it but since all brands seem to be the same, it seems like they are made cheaply and intent to fail to keep selling newer models routinely. I'd love to see some real stats on cellphone failure rates. Then again, there is much demand on them, being dropped and thrown into purses, etc.
Also, how sensitive are those water sensing dots? I have had two of my phones show that they were exposed to moisture when they never even came close to it and I live in the desert with not humidity! Those things are hyper sensitive on purpose just to nullify in warranty repairs more often. I'm conviced of it.
