* <sub-menu> - I dont exactly remember the sub menu and I don't have my Ming with me right now!

This will insert a W in the tel no box. repeat this to insert multiple "W"s and as soon as u press the last "W" a pop-out will appear with the FW details. Be quick to note it down coz the pop-out will fade out automatically, or atleast thats wat happens on my phone!

.08p indicates the version of OS on ur mobile. Just curious, when did u get ur mobile, coz .08p is kinda very old FW and is not available generally these days.

Any way, back to topic, ur FW is what determines hw ur phone behaves and how ur apps perform etc. This info might be helpful for SW related issues that u might have in the future. Just update it in the ur profile.

It does not tell what apps can run explicitly. Think of it as the OS that u have on ur PC/MAC... Apps created for Win9x need not run on WinXP and will not probably run on Vista.

Similarly, app running on .08p need not run on other FWs. There is no sure shot way to find this out, coz some app might work on somebody's .08p but not on others. This info helps in some cases. Also there are a few bugs that are inherent in some FW like the phone book issue discussed in detail.
