my e6 is killing me. menu multiple showing. [double entries]

This phone is simply killing me.... i would love using a hammer instead of the stylus right now

here's the thing.
I've installed Spore (the game) and suddenly all the apps that are installed by me (pkg and java) appear in their normal category but as well in Games, so i have them in the menu twice and i can't get rid of them, i can't move them in another category i can't do anything... the only way to get rid of them is to uninstall the apps but i loose all the saves from games and settings from apps....

and if you didn't understand from what i said here are some screenshots.

It seems like the only apps installed by me not from the firmware with no double entry are super bluetooth hack and bt info. And this is weird because last time all of them were doubled.
It's the second time this happened to me and first time i was able to solve this only by reflashing. if anyone knows something about this or has any ideea, i'm all ears

Heys Bruce i had the same situation two days ago.I solve it by copying .system folder that i have preserved on my computer few days ago and than reinstal the rockbox(i had trouble with new rockbox not with spore).
First i have tried to uninstal a double icons/games but then a new one popup again and again and again...then i solved the problem as above.

well thanks for the tip gagi i'll make a backuping script for some files from .system (since i can't backup the whole folder).

meantime i uninstalled everything and now i'm integrating some apps like scribi, startmenu, ApplyFont and others in SmartAsst so that i don't have to install any other pkg, just keep the smart asst and some java apps.
Maybe after integrating enough apps i'll upload it on the forum.

ps. i don't actually integrate the app in smartasst, just that for example you'll be able to apply fonts by opening the .ttf files with smartasst (but only if applyfont is present in QTDownLoad)
this will result in:
-faster loading of the menu
-faster loading of the open with apps list
-smaller CardRegistry

Yes,that would be nice,but what i do is just copy .system folder,backup folder,My notes folder(i use notes often for my work and sync doesn't sync it with Outlook) to my computer and when something go wrong i can copy it back to my mmc.That is the easiest way, i do it every few days,and do backup with SmartAssist. every day. Try it out it may save you lot of work.
I accidently in pocket pressed mmc port and card went out,swap was activated and phone blocked i have to put batery out.Effect was damaged .system folder and some more folders and i had to format card.But luckily i just copied my all those folders few hours ago and i was back on a track in few minutes...

I have this same problem. And i think i started seeing it after moving out to autoswap beta. maybe one of the devs of that firmware can help here?

I even have a work around. It will 'move' out from games to 'user2'. So you would have repeated entries in say office & user2, but at least games will be clean. i dont mind a bunch of entries in user2 as i hardly use it.

as you can see i have no user 1 & 2 as i hide them.

Check out /ezx_user/download/appwrite/am/ folder. Maybe there is something helpful there. I donno about E6, coz im using E2, but when the similar problem happen with me on E2, i can fix it by editing UserMenuTree file. It might be similar since both are based on EZX. (though the user interface is different, but who knows it will work)
