    i have a similar problem, i flashed my phone to workingman's firmware, which had lot of preloaded applications, i flashed another firmware, 'aksd's motorolafans new mod beta' after doing a backup with smartasst. but after the restore i had icons of two previously preloaded applications ( showing the name and exclamation mark for icon). i want to remove them but don't know how?
    Any help?

    That is going to be very hard to do it.Because Smart assistant memorised apps that were in the phone,so you have to find app registry on the phone and to delet them from there(like you have a cardregistry on mem card).Telnet to the phone and find it...

    gagi is right
    you have to go to /mmc/mmca1/.system/java/CardRegistry and remove all the unavailable app entries

    Remember to open the file with a linux compatible text editor such as wordpad or crimson editor

    ps: I'm still facing the same problem after uninstalling everything and installing other java apps. With this opportunity i think i'll flash again to 09p which had better speed in my opinion. I can pass the java lag but i've never had lag in doom 'till now

    @bruce

    Yes that is a card registry. But you also have preinstaled applications in a firmer(original or modded) and Smart assistant remembers them also in a backup data. So when u change a firmer and then reload backup u also get a yellow exklamation sign for every missing application from a former firmware.I had a same problem and i solve it by exident but really can't remember how...I had Longmans dictionary and some other program that cause me a same trouble now i get reed of it but...as i said.can't recoll.Try looking in Smart Assistant folder inQTDoownLoad and maybe there is something that can help you.I have no time now to check it out bussy a lot but during weekend i take a look.
