    Default Help preparing for flash...

Seriously...I have searched these forums, google and whatnot and I am having some trouble finding the proper files to flash using RSD lite.

    Issues I'm having:

    1)from this link:
    ** Guide to Flashing your E6 ** - MotorolaFans.com Forums

    it says to:

    1. Download the file Motorola_USB_Driver_32_v2.7.6 to your PC and unrar it to your desktop so you can easily find it.

    then it says

    4. Start up RSDLite on your PC. You may be asked to install a number of drivers (5 or 6) to your PC. Point it in the direction to the motpcsdrivers folder you unrared.

Ok, so I do that....and what is the file that is inside the Zipped folder?
    ...a installation file.

so where does 'motpcdrivers' come from? because the installation file installs the drivers...but WHERE IS THE FOLDER 'MOTPCDRIVERS'?????

#2) I'm downloading this firmware from here:
    **Download E6 Firmware Here** 8/25/07 - MotorolaFans.com Forums

    R533_G_11.12.08P
    DOWNLOAD

    and it says:

    3. Download the firmware file that you want to flash to and unrar it to your desktop.

ok, I'd love to do that...but the file is a .sbf file... so how do I 'un-rar' it to my desktop...since winrar wont open .sbf files...

So how do I do this?
I do not see how these are 'easy' steps...and just to put it out there...rapid share sucks so much ass with its verification...What fucking cats? I see something that looks like a fucking cat but what are those other things? a fucking crab? a dog? fuck rapid share sucks

I have tried to understand some of the stuff on modmymoto but seems like the whole forum is outsourced overseas.

    Any help on this please?

    Ok, so thats fucking great.

I pay for this garbage rapid share to download the Motorola_USB_Driver_32_v2.7.6 thinking I was downloading the wrong one...and guess what...

it's the same fucking installation file.

Can somebody explain to me what I'm doing wrong? seriously...I deal with computers on a daily basis so how can this be so difficult to understand? unless the 'guide' is written completely wrong :S

I dont want to start flashing this and then screw up my phone due to mis-communication in the guide

You cant permanently 'fuck up' your E6, dont worry

All the drivers and such should be here in the forum (or at least links) Ive flashed mine 100 times with the info Ive gotten from here.

    Get the Drivers
    Install RSDlite
download the firmware you want (.sbf)

open RSD, Boot the phone in Flash Mode (Hold Down the camera button while turning on)
plug the phone in, RSD should say it sees the device.

Click on the open file button, and select the .sbf file

    press start

    have a beer

    wait

even if it says flash failed, it ok, just take out the battery, wait 5 minutes and put it back, and it should boot fine

    have another beer

    done
so long and thanks for all the fish

Sorry, I was a bit aggrivated as I was following the steps 100% and they were very unclear to me.

so .SBF files...you do NOT unzip lol

so I did it with RSD lite, and it passed and worked

THANK YOU For the guide...maybe I was having dificulty with it...but the guide still helped me

    mod can close this

    thanks
