Hey sandeep,
I also was on the same thing that EXMMS has better sound than Rockbox till i spended much time on the graphic equalizer of rockbox and made my custom eq. settings which matched my eq. requirements.
i think this should work for you.
Dear BlackHawk,
Thanks for a wonderful application like RockBox. I've been using RockBox and eXmms for a while now and I find that the sound quality is much better in eXmms than in RockBox. But I find the new rockbox portrait interface more intuitive for a touchscreen phone.
can you please tell us if the sound is so because Rockbox is on an emulator and not directly interfacing with the F/w and if there is any possibility of achieving same level of sound perfection on RockBox as in eXmms?
Thanks & Regards
Sandeep

Ohhh C'mon!!! I've got everything working on my mob too, but that doesn't mean I'm putting it here!!!
Well I've been using RockBox's old and new version for some time and I've already tried creating my own custom equalizer settings, but the issue is that the settings customized for one song may not always hold good for another one. Another noticable difference is that in Rockbox, at higher volumes, the sound becomes scratchy and jarring for some songs but not so much in eXmms at comparable volumes.

As a suggestion... can we use this thread as a place where people can put there oown custom equalizer settings and experience with the same.

I'm attaching my own settings over here. Please provide feedback on this. You can remove .zip from the name to get the cfg.
Other than the EQ--->
Channel Configuration: Custom
Stereo Width: 70%
Equalizer: Enabled
Crossfeed: Enabled
Crossfeed Settings: Direct Gain: -.5 db, CrossGain: -4.5 db, HiFreq. Attn: -7.5 db, HF Cutoff: 1100 Hz
