  1. Post Changing firmware question

Hi everyone, I'm new to this world of modding but i have read many posts now just to decide wich phone I'll buy I'm between a1200i and e6. I like both phones but my question is this, I have read that many users have bricked their phones, and i want to know in you personal opinion wich is the easiest phone to upgrade their firmware, I have read that a1200 have several tracks of firmware and if you choose a wrong one you could brick your phone or you can render it unusable. I have recently read that E6 doesn't have firmware tracks so will it be more easy to flash and avoid errors?. This post will make up my decision to buy one or the other so please help me. I'm afraid that after all the time I've been saving money for my a1200 / e6 (I'm student ) I end up with a dead cell phone because I make a mistake or follow the wrong link or someone upload a different firmware with another name, etc.

    PLease Help.

Sorry for the long post I hope you don't get tired reading
Oh and sorry for my english I haven't practiced it in some years .

I can tell you that im very happy with my E6, It does everything I want in a phone/music player/game system/organizer. As far as flashing goes, I have tried a few different firmwares, and never had any problem with it 'bricked' if I screw something up, I know I can flash it, and 10 minutes later its good as new. The E6 is just like the advertisements say: its sleek and sophisticated, also its extremely compact, and no fear of moving parts (ie: flip) breaking.

    Hope that helps
so long and thanks for all the fish

Yes what you say is correct. There is no problem of firmware "tracks" with the E6 as compared to the A1200.However, normally, this should not influence your decision unless you are going to flash your phone often.
Now considering that you are a student and dont have money in case this gets screwed up, then your best bet would be the E6.
If you do however go with an A1200, you could always ask the brilliant moderator at the A1200 section, kiwiguy, for help before flashing it.

In any scenario, E6 or A1200, ALWAYS READ THE STICKIES

We're watching you. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

  4. Talking Thanks for helping

Hi, thanks for helping me. I think I'm confused right now because I want both phones but I think I've made my mind. I'm going to go with a1200i because there are many phones like that in my country (I can buy accesories even new batteries or any replacement I need) and the touchscreen of the a1200 is more protected (for the long term) so even I like the E6 in it's design i'll buy the ming.

    Thank you for your help
