Slow Samba (via USBNet) file copying problem
Hi,
I'm using a 4GB SD card (non-SDHC) and this card is not recognised by windows OS when the phone is put in Mass Storage Mode. So I'm using USBNet Samba file charing technique to copy the files to my computer.
My issue is that whenever I try to copy files which are huge in size (say > 100MB) the time taken is too much then normal USB2.0 disk copy. My question is :
1. Can there be some improvements made in this file copying by tweaking the Samba config and making changes on windows side?
2. Has anyone been using a 4GB SD (non-SDHC) card which is sucessfully detected for capacity both by windows and E6 without any external card reader?
3. Can this problem be resolved by creating equal sized two GB partitions on the card. I have created partition using fdisk but unable to format those partitions to FAT16 so had to revert back. Does anyone know how E6 formats the card FS to FAT16 (command??)?
4. What could be Windows behaviour in case partition thing does work on E6.
Any directions towards making my 4GB card work simultaneously with E6 and Windows would be much appreciated.
My Card - Transcend (TS4GSDC) 4GB
My Mobile - E6
My Comp OS - Win XP Pro
