Q: Do I need to do a firmware upgrade - on 8P?

i jst followed the instructions to find out which firmware i have
and it says

R533_g_11.12.08P
BP: R533_g_11.12.08PBPFI
ex:GSzmcaut677zh01b
DSP 63343400technology triband gsm

now i do in need firmware update ? also what benefit does the modified firmware give?

please help as i am quite new to this

Your firmware is 08p, please take a look at the "Guide to Firmware and Flashing" to answer your questions regarding the firmware that you HAVE and learn what the benefits and drawbacks are of OTHER firmwares. Once you take a look @ the Guide you will be able to decide for yourself if you should flash or not....

i'm all for MODDING but advise u are SURE that there is a benefit that u want that can ONLY be achieved by flashing before you take that step. is there something specific that you want your MING 2 do that itwon't do now? i'd REALLY suggest you take a look @ the "faq" & "guide to modding" stickys @ the top of the forum so you have an idea of what CAN be done b4 you do ANYTHING. rest assured that once you DO decide to mod, you have a LOT of people here willing to help you if you have ANY questions or get stuck!
